Lingayen Gulf

Whenever I hear Lingayen Gulf, what comes to mind is a magnificent display of roll breaking sunset - the amazing colors of orange and blue surrounding the setting sun as it descends to the silvery beach of Lingayen.

However, because of another impending tropical storm that weekend, the spectacular sunset that I have dreaming to shoot remained just that - a dream. To make use of the time however, I still took some shots of the beach, albeit its gloomy weather as well as took some shots on the other things the Gulf is famous for - that is memorabilia of remnants of war prominently displayed in the Gulf's Memorial.

Unmanned Fishing Boat

Tank circa 1940s

Tora-tora

Ground Control Machine Guns

Gallery of World War II Pictures

All in a Day's Work

Sea Horizon

History of war is plenty in the net and one informative site is this, so I will no longer dwell on that part. On its own, I personally think that there is nothing much to do in Lingayen, the beach is not that desirable but if you prefer a beachy ambiance while having your beer and spending your night singing "My Way", then, you can go to cottages/pubs along the shore.

But with combination of other destinations such as the Hundred Islands and even Bolinao, then Lingayen could be a nice place to spend a day with, specially if the weather cooperates for you could see the grandeur of it's famous sunset.

If you wanna spend a night in Lingayen, you could stay at Hotel Consuelo and inquire at 0917-815-2000.

  16. Good Morning Everyone. I almost wasn't able to face a computer yesterday due to a hectic sched at work. Good thing that a scheduled posting was available in Blogger and that this post was published as timed.

@ coldman - dapat pala pinatalikod ko si Coldman the Loro para may similarity.

alaskador nga yun kasi lahat ng lumapit sa kanya tinatawag nya ng pangit.

  17. @ the dong - actually mas malapit ito sa hundred islands.

dapat pala minsan ilibot ko kayo from nueva ecija to tarlac to pangasinan eh.

  18. @ carletta - thanks. did you know that many folks here consider "My Way" as a swan song?

Many drunkards sing this song out of tune to the annoyance and irritation of other drunkards. A fight usually ensues where someone can get hurt. (usually the singer).
