'D Adbentyurs of Comboboyz

At the start of this Cagbalete Series, I have mentioned that the four of us who went there were mistaken as a Rock Group, err a Combo Band, in Mauban. Maybe because we all wore dark clothes and maybe they have mistaken our cam gears and cased tripods as musical instruments, but then again, that mistaken identity stuck with us in Cagbalete, thus, the Comboboyz was formed.

It is my third time to travel with Dong Ho and my first time with Kit and Manny. The three went together on a Pinatubo trip a couple of weeks before with other bloggers and I.T. people, so this is the second time that Dong Ho traveled with them.

Dong Ho and I met at Makati with Orlan and after dinner, we proceed to Lingkod Alabang's prayer meeting. I have first met the Lingkod Alabang Brothers in Capones Island and they have became good acquaintances ever since. I am specially close to Orlan who went with Dong Ho on our Nueva Vizcaya-Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road Trip. He has a Christmas gift for me which I have not gotten from a common friend up to now. You can check out my post on Capones with Lingkod Alabang and my trip with Orlan and Dong Ho in my hometown by following the links in my side bar. (Kategorya: Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya and/or Aurora).

Kit is a nurse by profession but is busy operating his coffee shop business. He also brought his DSLR camera during this trip and really eager on learning to use it. He is such a fun guy to be with and no dull moment with him.

Manny is also a nurse and I think he is in the process of preparing his papers abroad so he is putting his time to good use lately by traveling. Manny and Kit are housemates and are related by consanguinity. After the prayer meeting, Dong Ho and I met Kit and Manny at the Alabang Crossing at around midnight. Then we waited for a bus that will lead us to Lucena City. It took us around three hours before we decided to board a bus going to Turbina and then to Lucena.

From Lucena, we then boarded another bus to Mauban. The ride was breezy to say the least because we passed by Quezon's mountain range. From the Mauban terminal, we then rode a tricycle to Mauban port where we await for a boat that will lead us to Cagbalete. It was the tricycle driver who have mistaken us for a Combo by asking us "kung saan kami tutugtog?" (where will you perform?)

In Cagbalete, the group just bonded endlessly and captured lots of photos and explored the amazing beauty of the island. On downtime, we just goofed around and played with my camera's auto timer resulting into these hilarious photos. And since we were mistaken for a band, we tried to come-up with our album complete with photoshoot for our album cover. Since, most of us could not sing or play instruments, the best thing to do was just to act the part. :) So here, we share some of the photos we plan to use in our very first and probably the last (hahaha) album.

Kidding aside, I always believe that what makes a very memorable trip is when you have fascinating place with awesome views that will keep you captivated and a very good company who has the same interests and passion as you. I found those two combinations with the beautiful island of Cagbalete and awesome company of Dong Ho, Kit and Manny.

Thanks Guys and Hope to see you around... and until the next album photoshoot. :)
