Selfie Sunday : Allan of Lantaw, Philippine Outdoor and Travel Photos

He is no Pacquiao but he can land the Big Punch

I was staring at his landscape shot of Mount Pulag framed on the wall of my room while I am thinking of the best possible way to introduce this popular travel-photo blogger but I can't seem to find the appropriate adjectives to start.

To the rescue is one of the best lines that stuck to me the night before when my group of travel-blogging friends (him included) watched Martin Sheen's The Way. On the way to the airport, there was an argument between the character played by Martin Sheen and his son wherein Martin told his son of the life he chose to live. Disagreeing about his father's choice, the son said "You don't choose a life... You live one!"

And that is what Allan Barredo, more popularly known in the blogging world as Lantaw is doing... he is living the life ... and living it well.

Allan is one of the best landscape photographer and he has the awards to prove it. He is so keen on details that every shot he post on his blog Lantaw - Philippine Outdoor and Travel Photos is a Nat-Geo worthy shot.

I happened to join Allan in some of his travels and I can attest to the dedication and passion he put in his work. Nature and landscapes are his favorite photographic subject and his shot evoke memories of travel and senses experienced in a particular place and at a particular moment.

He carefully go against convention and that's why he succeeds. Just like this "Selfie Shot" he sent me. He could have shared his shot while travel wandering in Japan or other parts of Asia, or those epic selfies in Lake Sebu or other parts of Mindanao that is less traveled. But no, he sent this shot in a little gym while he was doing his boxing work-out.

When asked why is the Selfie pic above one of his favorites? Allan quipped "Bahala ka na Bai, kilala mo naman ako." But rather than words, the best way to know Allan is through his work that he regularly shares thru his blog. So let us all be amazed and check out his wonderful narration and stunning photos that will surely leave us breathless.
