Salagdoong Beach

Salagdoong beach resort is one of Siquijor Islands's most frequented beaches. It boasts of crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand, high rock formations and favorable diving spots. Lines of dense molave trees usher every visitor to the intramural breadth of the beach. The beach is managed by the Government and that a minimal entrance fee of only ten pesos per guest is required before one could enter the resort.

Here as some of the pics I have taken while on the beach resort:

The beach is located in the Municipality of Maria where Our Lady of Divine Providence Church is also located. It is directly opposite the Coco Grove Beach Resort where we stayed in Siquijor. The beach is also part of the bigger Salagdoong Forest which is a reforestation project of the Government. Salagdoong's name was taken from a Swift bird's nest.

We reached the place at the end of our island tour so the shots above were taken at nights. We relaxed for a few minutes at the observatory deck before proceeding at the beach. The sea is so calm and the wind is so cool that it was the perfect time just to walk barefoot on the sand.

  11. very nice pictures lawstude!

i havent been in the place, and i really want to go there.

sana mamaintain ng government yung ganda ng Siquijor. Balita ko mahigpit din daw yung LGUs nila regarding environmental protection...

  12. @ towr: That's a good news if it is...

@ lawstude: You're right, we have countless of islands and islets to be explored. I had been to a lot of places in our country but always found out from other travelphotographer that I still have lots of places to explore yet. By the way, have you already tried Lakbayan Grade? That's if you would like to rate yourself of how much you have traveled across our country. Mine is here. You may check it out :)

  14. the only time i stepped on the soil of siquijor was when the Pulauan ferry stopped over on Lazi port from Iligan on the way to Cebu.

    I'll link you up!

  15. @ towr - yes, people there are really disciplined. it not like palawan where littering is prohibited but the folks there just really know how to take care of their environment. plus, crime rate there is 0%.

  31. Salagdoong is a very nice bach as well. I like it's unique appeal of limestones and olave trees. Very Siquijor in Character.

By the way, the comments of orbs on my pics. They were actually water droplets sprayed from the fall, di ko lang nalinis. But it would be interesting to really capture one

  32. @ pining - thanx for appreciating the pics. proud pinoy po ito. sana lang we practice sustainable development kasi yung ibang magagandang view ay nasisira na ng progreso.

  34. @ ferdz - i agree with you. a small island of siquijor could offer unique and variable features to its tourists. galing.

yung tungkol sa orbs, kakapanood ko lang kasi ng interview kay jaime lichauco, i guess it got stuck in me subconsciously kaya nang may makita ko bilog sa pic kala ko orbs na yun. :-)
