Pure Shores at Capones Island

The bone-shaped island of Capones is home to scenic shorelines and spectacular off-white beaches, and considered one of Zambales' best. What is more amazing is that, wandering around the shores, you will discover than these shores vary in texture. The beach fronting Pundaquit is fine-off white sand while the beach at the back of the island fronting the open sea is more course. The left and the right-most part of the islands are bit rocky and not safe for swimming.

Here are some photos I have taken as I wander around the shores of Capones Island:

DAY SHOTS

Beach Front of Capones Island

Strong Waves and High Tides Gave this effect to the Island's Sandy Shores

The left part of the island overlooking the mountain-range of Pundaquit

The Black and Cream Sand at the Back of the Island (I'm not quite sure if it is caused by an oil spill or lahar).

Strong Waves at the shore fronting the open sea.

Footprints in the sand...

NIGHT SHOTS

Beach at front of our camp site.

Neither the moon nor the stars showed but the blue hues dominate the night sky.

Life is a Beach Indeed

  7. the night shots are trully amazing. The edges are subdued and there's a mellowdramatic effect creating a melancholy feeling. It brings another side of blue... it's probably this time when you will hear the mermaids singing their sad songs ...beckoning

k... i should stop before my imagination overtakes me...lol

    thanks for sharing Lawstud!

  23. beautiful!! i miss capones!! i miss san antonio! the first time i visited was 15 years ago pa. last was around 5 years ago. kakamiss talaga. did you go to the lighthouse?

i think the black sand is either magnetite or chromite sand. zambales is a hotbed for chromite mining.
