Paitan Cove's Unspoiled Beauty

With more than Seven Thousand Islands and various shapes and sizes, the Islands Philippines is truly gifted with lots of beautiful coves where the sea touches the hills and mountains thru fine-textured sand. Some of the best coves in the Philippines can be found in the Gulf of Bagac in Bataan. One of them is Paitan Cove - an unspoiled place and one of the town's best kept secret.

Paitan Cove named after the Barangay where it is located features a small stretch of fine cream-colored sand that ends in a series of beautifully-formed stones and rocks that made-up its seascape. It is also famous in the area for its shallow beach and amazing plankton that glows in the dark as you wade in its waters. And since there are is no electricity in the place, one will have to really go back to basics and learn to live the old-fashioned way. Here are some of the photos I have taken of the place:

Will Lawstude ride the Boat?

How to go there?

There are buses plying almost hourly from Manila to Balanga City, Bataan (about 150 kms). Then, from Balanga, you can take another bus that will lead you to Bagac (about 27 kms). Then at Bagac Town Center, you can hire a tricycle that will lead you to Gulf of Bagac. From there, you need to ride a boat directly to the Paitan Cove. Alternatively, you can ask your tricycle driver to go directly to Barangay Paitan (the ride is quite bumpy thou), and trek about 10 to 20 minutes to the Cove.
