Foodstagram Friday : Cabanatuan City's Homegrown Palabok

Joey's Pancit Palabok

There are food and delicacies that identify a place. Mention bagnet and Ilocos comes to mind, say laing and you've got Bicol. There is also Pancit Habhab for Quezon and Pancit Malabon for, well, Malabon. These food are usually part of tradition that goes on for generations. However, there are those entrepreneurial folks who develop their own menu that it becomes some kind of an icon for a particular place. And that it what Joey's Snack Haus brings to Cabanatuan City... it's very own version of Pancit Palabok.

Joey's Snack House is Cabanatuan's answer to Pampanga's Razons. Although both establishments specialize in palabok, each differ on the way they are being prepared. Joey's palabok is made up of special kropek and pepper sauce topped with shrimp, boiled eggs, balingit or chicharon bulaklak and spring onions. The flavor is so rich and oh so right. A single serve cost Php 60. Party bilao pack is also available from Php 100 to Php 1000. The palabok is best eaten with their Sago and Gulaman drink. Other food on Joey's stable include Beef Spaghetti, Mami, sandwiches and other viands. Main branch is located in the City Proper just in front of the Cathedral while there are also branches in NE Pacific and Megamall.

  6. This time, I'd say I really am not a big fan of palabok hehe. I don't know - maybe because of a bad experience before kaya nawalan ako ng gana hehe. But the photo seems palatable huh!
