Maguindanao : Finding Solace @ Tamontaka Lourdes Grotto

Grotto of Immaculate Mary
Somewhere in predominantly Muslim province of Maguindanao lies an oasis of tranquility and peace. It is where Christians and Muslim alike take refuge form oftentimes chaotic situation in the area. A place run by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, a Catholic religious congregation specializing in difficult missions, this place features the replica of the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in France, known to heal the sick and the troubled through its holy spring water.

Tamontaka Lourdes Grotti is located in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, around 20 minutes from downtown Cotabato City. For a small token entrance fee, one can enjoy the vast scenery with fresh air to booth. One could just walk around there and explore the area or check some other attractions such as Creations Park, a mini zoo, dioramas and museums.
But if you are after personal reflections and prayers, the place also have a Via Crusis with large wood carvings fixed upon concrete foundation that is stationed along the cemented path down to the grotto. There is also a huge and tall replica of the Resurrection that culminates the Station of the Cross.
Here are some photos I have taken while I was in Tamontaka Lourdes Grotto:
