Iligan City : Mimbalot Falls

The Modest Mimbalot Falls
Short, short, short. These three same words could amply describe my Mimbalot Falls experience in Iligan City. It is a short falls measuring just about 90 feet from the top to the pool basin. It is also a short trek of about 20 minutes from the main highway. And a short stay is all you need to appreciate and enjoy the surrounding views of the Falls.

Mimbalot Falls is one of the nearest from the mighty Maria Christina Falls. It is also the downstream of another popular Falls, the Tinago Falls. Though not as grand, Mimbalot completes the triumvirate falls that city slickers can visit in a day. Here are few snaps I have taken while visiting the place:

How to go there?

Mimbalut Falls is just a 30-minute drive from the City Proper. Just drive along the national highway then turn left at the crossing before the Linamon Bridge or the road going to the Buruun Fisheries School. You will pass by the "Welcome to Iligan City" sign.

For commuters, take the Buruun-liner Jeepneys and get off at the terminal. You can walk 20 minutes from the highway to the falls.

There is a resort named Iligan Paradise Resort and Ecopark Outdoor Adventure where you can have a better view of the Falls. Entrance is Php 50. You can however opt to trek the left side of the Falls if you don't want to enter the resort.
