Panagbenga 2008 Float Parade Part 1

A million roses, mums, anthuriums, orchids, everlastings and other flowers were used in this year's Panagbenga Float Parade. There were more than thirty floats that participated in the parade and despite the rains, the revelrie and the festival continued.

Here are the first batch of floats (including GMA Kapuso Float with Richard Gutierrez, Jewel Mische and Iza Calzado on board) that I have taken on that Sunday event:

Panagbenga 2008 Grand Parade Part 2

"Panagbenga" is a Kankana-ey term for "a season of blossoming". Kankana-ey is a language spoken by tribes in Benguet and Mountain Province. This festival is the reason for the influx of travelers in the City in recent years.

Here are some more photos I have taken on the Grand Parade:

Longanisa Festival

My City of Cabanatuan recently celebrated its 1st Longanisa Festival on February 2, 2008. Known in the country for having the best tasting Longanisa, the Local Government of Cabanatuan deemed it proper to honor the longanisa makers and at the same time promote these sumptuous meat products all over the country thru this festival.

Baguio Botanical Garden

Continuing with the Baguio Tourist Spots series, let me now feature the Baguio Botanical Garden. Located east of Baguio's downtown area, it is one of Baguio's largest park and about the same size as Burnham Park.
