The Baler Capsized Boat Experience

I planned on not blogging about this frightening experience in Baler primarily because I don’t want to freak-out my mom who lives very away from me. But how can you not write about something which has nearly taken the lives of seven fun-loving individuals – the Survivor Seven as we call ourselves.

I have been to Baler late last year and having been bitten by its natural beauty, I found myself going there again and this time with a group of friends all from Nueva Ecija. We took the earliest van ride from Cabanatuan to Baler (fare is Php200 each).

Singapore - By The Urban River

The Singapore river is a small river with huge historical importance. This 11,000 meter long river lies in the central region of the island and empties out in Marina Bay. Today, the River and its vicinity is home to a blend of historical, tourist and commercial structures such as shophouses, bridges, shrines, skyscrapers and of course, the Merlion.

Photo Featured : Reader's Digest Unseen Asia

This is a pleasant surprise. Due to the insistent prodding of my office mate who is a Reader's Digest subscriber for years, I have sent one of my favorite shots to Reader's Digest Photo Contest for Unseen Asia. That was in October last year and I got an e-mail a few days after from the magazine staff that the photo I have submitted was being considered for publication. That was it. I totally forgot about the contest until a facebook friend today wrote on my wall that he saw my Benguet landscape shot in the April 2010 edition of Reader's Digest. I hurriedly checked Reader's Digest Website and to my surprise, my photo of the Hanging House in Ifugao won the Unseen Asia Photo Contest for April.
