Interpix: Food For Thought

Since I will be busy working on my new job, which includes Saturdays, I am sad to say that I might put this blog temporarily at the backseat for now.

Candaba Wetlands and Bird Sanctuary

I am not a bird photographer. I don't even have the lens for it. But given a choice between spending the day walking outdoors in a nearby province in the company of my best travel buddies or battling it out with Dr. Zomboss in the rooftop of my zombie-infested house, the choice was definitely easy.

Bataan's Silver Lining

Though I have barely slept for a couple of hours the night before, the promise of uninterrupted ocean views and profound sense of stillness prompted me to wake-up and go to a bus station heading to Bataan.

Interpix: January Rain

It's the first rain of 2011 from where I live and it co-incides with the day devotees flock Quiapo.

Photos Featured: Business World

What a nice way to start the year. Three of my photos got featured in the Business World Newspaper and on its On Line Edition. In an article written by Camille Erika R. Sarte for the paper's Arts and Leisure Section, my photos of Bicolano dishes Bicol Express, Laing and Pinangat were shown as they compliment the "Hot Stuff" article about these spicy dishes.

If there are native delicacies that stand out in the province of Nueva Ecija, these have got to be the rice cakes of San Antonio.

My Top 10 Travels of 2010

This blog just turned five and this is also the fifth time that I will be doing a top 10 travel list. Unlike the past two years where I had harder time choosing and ranking the places I have gone to, the list this year is much easier because I haven't really traveled much in 2010 compared to the previous two. But nevertheless, the travels of 2010 feature some of my most memorable travels to date - from the most beautiful beach I have ever seen to the most perfect-shaped volcano the Philippines has to offer. From the adventures of surfing and water-rafting to the craziest habal-habal ride ever. All that and more on my top ten travels of 2010.

Calaguas Island in Camarines Norte tops my list for 2010. The superb stretch of white sand in Mahabang Buhangin Beach is probably the best beach I have ever been. The lack of accommodation and basic necessities add to the appeal of this island paradise and all your worries will go away just by enjoying yourself at the beautiful beach scape that the place offers. This beach is a 10 in my books.

Interpix: 12 Round Fruits

It has always been our family tradition to prepare 12 round fruits for media noche. It is believed that these 12 round fruits will bring good fortune all year round.
