Davao City Orchids Farm

If you ask any person to name three things that they associate with Davao, undoubtedly, orchids will surface from that list. Thanks mainly to the world famous Waling-Waling which is dubbed as the queen of Philippine orchids. In fact, every every 3rd week of August, Kadayawan sa Dabaw festival is held to give thanks to the bounty of fruits and flowerers as the Waling-Waling orchid blooms. Colorful floats are adorned with beautiful orchids and other flowers in the grand parade.

Davao City has several orchid farms and one of them is Sul Orchids Farm located in Luzviminda Village, Ma-a, Davao City. The farm houses varieties of cross-breed orchids in brilliant blooms situated in a 2-hectare area. And yes, they do sell orchids there (mostly wholesale). Although there comes a time when transport of these orchids are prohibited, now you just need a clearance from the DENR so that these will be quarantined and be safe for transport.

Here are some photos of the orchids I have taken from the farm:

More of Davao City on my next post.

  10. @ rey - these are quite expensive so robbers target them. its better to secure your mom's garden to avoid robbers.
