Ten Years of Blogging

Oh Boy! What a journey it has been. It seems only yesterday that I shared posts about my life as a law student reviewing for the BAR. And of how this blog transitioned from a personal-law blog to a travel-photo blog. It has been ten years.

While I must admit that I write and travel less now because of work, still, my passion for traveling and telling stories never really ceases. So if I find time, occasional it may seems, I still do share some of my travel stories and favorite photographs I have taken in that travel.

For 10 years, I was blessed to have loyal readers who never get tired of leaving inspirational comments in my posts. I also got to share some of my travels with other bloggers who eventually became my friends for life. I am sure that my travel-blogging days may be over but my good times with these awesome friends shall continue.

Here as “10” Stats and Facts about this blog:
1.       Its original blog name was Lawtude’s Journeys
2.       The first travel blogger I met was Dong Ho in a trip to Capones Island in 2008.
3.       This blog has featured 60 provinces and 7 Asian countries  so far
4.       This blog encouraged me submit photos to some publications and I consider the one published in Reader’s Digest as my favorite.
5.        In 2009 this blog was a finalist in Best Photo Blog category in Philippine Blog Awards, its only nomination to date :p
6.        There were 820 posts made for ten years, 65% of them happened in the first 5 years.
7.        The blog featured several regular entries like Instapix, Foodstagram and Throwback Trip Thursday but the most successful was “Selfie Sunday” which was participated in by fellow travel bloggers.
8.       The most popular post was “Walking Around Carabao Island” posted on December 12, 2008 with almost 34K views.
9.       The most commented post was “WOW Philippines” posted on September 13, 2006 with 160 comments.
10.   The blog had almost 940K visitors for ten years, for which 458K came from the Philippines, 188K from USA and the rest from different parts of the earth.
What’s in store for “Oman is an Island”? I will continue sharing my travel stories and photographs as well as interesting law stories to my readers. It may not be that often and regular but I will share some posts nevertheless. Of course, I will still be available to answer inquiries left through the comments section of my posts.

Again, thank you for joining me in my journey for ten years and here's hoping to continue blogging for ten more years. Cheers!
